Our new ceramic evening concept in Gatineau offers something much simpler: take the time to get together, bring what you like to eat, choose a ceramic piece and spend the evening painting and chatting in a completely different setting.
Welcome aboard our workshop bus, located directly at the Ferme Éco des Champs in Aylmer.
An evening where knowing how to paint is not necessary
That's probably the first thing to know.
You absolutely do not need to be an artist.
There is no mandatory model, no result to achieve, and no need for your room to look like the one of the person sitting next to you.
You simply choose your ceramic, your colors and your idea.
Some arrive with a very specific project in mind.
Others start by saying they have absolutely no idea what to do and end up not wanting to put down their paintbrush anymore.
That's precisely what makes the experience enjoyable.
Bring your own appetizers or meal
A creative evening is even better when you can take your time.
You can bring your own drinks, snacks or meal and settle in for the evening.
Would you prefer not to prepare anything?
Simply have your supper delivered directly to the farm.
The idea is not to create a very formal workshop.
It's more about being able to eat, chat, laugh and paint all in the same evening.
A real bus converted into a workshop
The evening takes place in our ceramic painting bus.
Inside, the old rows of seats have given way to work tables, brushes, paints and ceramic pieces.
The result is an intimate creative space that is completely different from a traditional studio.
And once the evening begins, you quickly forget that you are in an old bus.
How does a party work?
The principle is very simple.
Upon arrival, you choose your ceramic piece.
We then explain how the paints work and the few important instructions.
Then the evening is yours.
You can paint at your leisure, change your mind along the way, be inspired by the creations of others, or simply take the opportunity to chat.
Once your creation is finished, it stays with us.
We then take care of the finishing and firing before you can collect your completed piece.
Why do ceramics work so well among friends?
Because it leaves enough space to talk.
Unlike an activity that requires constant attention, painting allows you to create while continuing the conversation.
We paint for a few minutes.
We watch what the person next to us is doing.
We exchange an idea.
We eat.
Let's start again.
And very often, the conversation becomes as important as the object being created.

The Ferme Éco des Champs is located in Aylmer, in western Gatineau.
Our goal with these evenings is simple: to offer people in the region an activity where they can go out, create and spend time together without having to go downtown or follow a very structured activity.
A farm.

And a few hours to disconnect.
